I hope that everyone has had a safe and happy holiday season while we all jump into the new year! I've been thinking about what my next blog would be about and didn't realize that a whole year had gone by already! I'm thankful for 2024 though, as it gave me more photo opportunities, and I was able to connect with some returning clients. I took on new shoots, which included weddings and even travel photo sessions. It's common to hear that some photographers have a specific "niche" or interest in what type of photo sessions they prefer. I personally never wanted to stick to specific types of photo shoots as I believe that is what helped me learn so much more throughout my photography career.
In the earlier part of the year, I was contacted by someone from the American Heart Association to photograph a Heart Walk event in Covington, Louisiana. Not only was I proud to take photos there, but it was amazing to see how many people came together in support of each other!
For a while, I had wondered if photographing weddings would be something that I would take on or not. Knowing that it would likely be a solo job, I was still up for the challenge and knew that I just needed to start somewhere. After a few local sessions in New Orleans and Mandeville, Louisiana, and even photographing my first travel wedding in Tampa, Florida, I am happy to say that I officially offer wedding photography and have enjoyed diversifying my portfolio even more!
My wife and I have also welcomed our beautiful daughter into the world and have been over the moon since day one! With life being busier and time flying by, I still wanted to take some time to get back to blogging again. Also, don't hesitate to contact Firmin's Photos to start planning out your photo shoot, whether it's a local or travel session. Talk to you soon and take care!
